SSL for your radio website and your stream

An SSL certificate makes your website available via https://. Browsers then show a padlock instead of a "Not secure" warning, and Google prefers encrypted pages.

SSL is included at LexyHost

Every plan includes a free Let's Encrypt certificate. In Plesk, you activate it for your domain under "SSL/TLS Certificates". Plesk renews Let's Encrypt certificates automatically.

Why your stream should be encrypted too

If your website runs on https:// but the player uses http://, many browsers block the stream or show a warning. This is called "mixed content". The solution: embed the stream via HTTPS as well. LexyCast supports stream encryption via SSL / HTTPS.

Checklist

  1. Activate the Let's Encrypt certificate in Plesk.
  2. Switch the website address in your CMS (for example WordPress) to https://.
  3. Embed players and widgets using the HTTPS address of your stream.
  4. Open the page in your browser and check that the padlock is shown.
